The lighting is a recent addition, installed in 2025 for approximately 73 million Chilean pesos. Before that, the floodlights were older, casting long shadows across the natural grass. The current setup ensures that the game is visible, but it does not change the character of the evening. The pitch itself is well-maintained, a bright green rectangle framed by the red-brown track. The stands are packed with fans, many wearing blue and white, the colours of the local team, Colchagua Club de Deportes. The stadium also hosts the annual "Seven Milagro de los Andes" rugby 7s tournament. This is a significant event, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Andes Flight 571 disaster. It brings a different kind of crowd, a respectful one, but the same ground is used. The connection between the community and the venue is strong, built over eighty years. The renaming in 1994 to honour Jorge Silva Valenzuela, a former city councilor, was a local gesture, a way to keep his memory alive. The name remains, though the players who once wore the shirt have moved on. The ground out the win when it needs to, and the fans stay until the final whistle.
