Estádio Municipal José Barros Sobrinho (Zezão)
Itaporanga, Brazil
Itaporanga's ground carries the nickname before the official name — everyone calls it Zezão, and the Estádio Municipal José Barros Sobrinho only comes up on paperwork. The club plays its Campeonato Paraibano fixtures here, moving between the second and third divisions, and as recently as September 2025 it was still hosting second-tier matches on the same patch of grass.
The official capacity sits at a modest 3,000, a number that says more about the town than about what the ground can actually hold when it matters. On 16 May 2014, the Zezão took in 9,789 people for the final of the Poeirão, an amateur cup final between Jurema and União FC that finished 1-1 and went to penalties, where Jurema won 3-2. That single afternoon turned a municipal pitch built for a few thousand into one that briefly held more than three times its listed number.
Natural grass has covered the field since it opened on 9 January 1993, and the pitch runs to a full-sized 105 by 68 metres — generous dimensions for a ground this size. There is no connection to the indoor Ginásio Zezão in Manaus, despite the shared nickname; this Zezão belongs entirely to Itaporanga, standing on the BR-361.
