Estádio Municipal Roberto Brzezinski
Campo Mourão, Brazil
The address puts it in the middle of things: Avenida Comendador Norberto Marcondes, in the Centro district of Campo Mourão , in the state of Paraná.
The name belongs to Roberto Brzezinski, who was mayor of Campo Mourão between 1955 and 1959, and the stadium was built in connection with that period in office. What followed is easier to trace than the beginning. By 1968 the ground was already hosting visitors — Atlético Paranaense came to play here — which places the arena firmly in the football of the late 1960s, whatever the date on which it first opened its gates.
Since then it has been the home of Sport Club Campo Mourão , who play their official state fixtures on it, under the Paraná federation. The pitch is natural grass, and it has been relaid; the turf was replaced during work on the ground.
