There is no ambiguity about the ground's identity—**it is not the baseball stadium** that shares the same name in the Topochico neighbourhood. The football venue has always been the Estadio Olímpico, a distinct structure within the Ciudad Deportiva.

The stadium has hosted football since the inception of Saltillo F.C. in 2019. That club used the ground until its dissolution in June 2024, after which the venue passed to Saltillo Soccer F.C., the city's other professional outfit. The capacity is generally cited as 10,000, a figure that matches the modest scale of the concrete seating.

The ground does not claim the history of a major tournament or a legendary team. It is a local institution, serving the city through financial crises and club reorganisations.
