Estádio Olímpico Municipal Gilberto Mestrinho

The Estádio Olímpico Municipal Gilberto Mestrinho sits in the União district. Locals call it Gilbertão , a name that has stuck since the venue opened in 1986.

The stands are simple concrete.

The ground hosted the local derby between Princesa do Solimões and Nacional in 2013, a match that secured the first title for the home side. The crowd roared them on through those ninety minutes, filling the space that holds 15,000 people. The renovation in 2015 modernised the locker rooms and fixed the drainage, but it left the character of the place unchanged.

More recently, the stadium found a different purpose. When the floods hit Rio Grande do Sul in 2024, the empty stands became a collection point for humanitarian aid. The pitch remained untouched, but the space around it filled with supplies.
