Two Amazonense Segunda Divisão titles, in 2010 and again in 2014, sit at the top of Operário-AM's record — the second division of the Amazonas state championship, not the top flight itself, which the club from Manacapuru has never claimed. The 2010 campaign came with a Taça FAF alongside it, and further back, in the 1990s and 2000s, the club had already collected two editions of the Copa dos Rios, in 1995 and 2006.
The nickname Sapão da Terra Preta ties the club to the ground it plays on. Operário-AM went up to the first division in 2010 and came back down in 2015; the same pattern repeated with promotion in 2022 and relegation in 2023.
Founded on 10 June 1982, the club plays at the Estádio Olímpico Municipal Gilberto Mestrinho, known as Gilbertão, in white and black.
