Estadio Osvaldo Domínguez Dibb

Ask an Olimpia supporter why the ground on Avenida Mariscal López matters, and the answer starts with a name, not a year. For decades this was Estadio Manuel Ferreira, built during the presidency of the man whose name it carried. In March 2024 the club renamed it for Osvaldo Domínguez Dibb, president through two long spells, 1976 to 1990 and 1996 to 2004, the years that brought Olimpia three Copa Libertadores titles and an Intercontinental Cup. He died on 2 February that year, aged 83. The Ferreira name did not disappear; it went to the club's sporting and social complex instead, so the family history stays attached to Olimpia, just to a different address.

What supporters knew as a 32,000-capacity bowl in Barrio Las Mercedes is currently not a stadium at all. Work that started in April 2024 as a renovation turned, by the end of that year, into a full demolition of the old stands. The replacement being built on the same footprint is designed for 46,000, aimed at readiness in time for the 2030 World Cup. Until then, Olimpia's home fixtures sit elsewhere.
