Stadium
Estadio Román Suárez Puerta
Formerly: Estadio La Exposición
The ground carries a mayor's name rather than a sponsor's. It opened on 26 September 1943 as Estadio La Exposición, and kept that name for thirteen years until the town council renamed it for Román Suárez Puerta, the mayor under whose administration it had been built.
Real Avilés CF, competing today as Real Avilés Industrial CF, has used the ground as its home since the opening, with one interruption: a spell at the end of the 1990s when the club played elsewhere before returning. The stadium remains municipal property, run by the town rather than the club.
It sits in the Las Meanas district, on Calle José Cueto away from the town centre, with a natural grass pitch.
