Estadio César Acuña Peralta

Estadio César Acuña Peralta sits in the Huanchaco district of Trujillo. The original plan called for a 12,000-seat venue in the El Milagro sector, but the project was redirected to Huanchaco. The result is a 2,000-capacity ground built around a natural grass pitch measuring 105 x 70 meters. It was not a greenfield build but an adaptation of an existing field within the Villa Poeta sports complex.

The stadium was officially inaugurated on April 12, 2025, replacing its former identity as Estadio Villa Poeta. It serves as the home ground for Universidad César Vallejo, which competes in the Peruvian Segunda División. The venue is owned by the university and named after César Acuña Peralta, the founder of the university and the Governor of the La Libertad region. During the inauguration ceremony, Acuña Peralta unveiled a bust in his own honour located in the western stand. The inaugural match featured Universidad César Vallejo against FC Cajamarca, a game that ended in a 3-2 victory for the visitors.

What remains is a modest facility: 1,500 standing areas and 500 seated boxes. The financial cost of the construction is not recorded in available sources. The pitch is natural grass, and the ground stands as the only stadium in the Huanchaco district.
