Estadio Victoria
Estadio Victoria stands on the footprint of the old Municipal Stadium. Work began in May 2002 and the new stadium opened on 26 July 2003, with the first match played three days later. The naming rights went to Grupo Modelo for a 25-year term, tied to its Victoria beer brand.
The project was pushed through under mayor Luis Armando Reynoso Fement, run via a purpose-built trust, the Patronato al Fomento de Fútbol, set up jointly by the municipality and Necaxa. The land itself belongs to the state government of Aguascalientes rather than the club or the city. Construction cost is put at 1.6 billion Mexican pesos, roughly 105 million dollars at the time.
The ground sits in Colonia Héroes, on Calle Manuel Madrigal — sometimes given in full as Manuel Zavala Madrigal — and holds 23,851 on natural grass.
