Falcon Alkoholfri Arena

The name on the gate is a piece of Swedish drinks law made visible. The municipality had called it Falkenberg Arena when it opened; the sponsor now runs the place, and its own website doubles as the arena's.

Getting there took two years and started with the town itself: the first move on the project came from residents in April 2015, not from a club or a league. The ground opened almost exactly two years later, on 2 April 2017, and it opened in competition rather than at a ceremony — a Суперэттан fixture between Фалькенбергс ФФ and Эстерс ИФ.

Scale is the thing to keep in mind. Five and a half thousand seats is a ground built for a town, and the capacity is quoted a little differently depending on where you look — the sponsor's own count runs slightly above the round figure. Either way it is a size where the crowd sits close to the grass rather than above it.

The surface is natural turf, which for a stadium of this vintage in Sweden is a choice rather than a default; plenty of grounds at this level went the other way. The address, Kristineslättsallén 1, puts it on the northern edge of town.
