Frederiksberg Idrætspark

Frederiksberg Idrætspark — the ground has served the same small pocket of Copenhagen for a century. Construction began in 1919, and the pitch hosted matches from 1924 before the formal inauguration on 21 June 1927.

It carries two names depending on who is talking about it: Frederiksberg Idrætspark on the official record, Frederiksberg Stadion in common usage, with no rebrand or sponsor swap in between — unlike arenas across town that have traded names with the times.

The playing surface changed once, and late: artificial turf went down in June 2013, a call made by the Frederiksberg municipal council and paid for at 7.5 million kroner, with floodlights added in the same package so the pitch could take winter fixtures it previously had to give up. Capacity sits at 5,000, modest by design rather than by decline.

It sits on Sønderjyllands Allé, tucked into the district it is named for, doing the same job it was built to do.
