Gargždų miesto stadionas
What has changed most often here is the ground itself. The artificial pitch laid during the 2009 reconstruction lasted two years before a FIFA two-star surface replaced it in 2011. In 2014 the covering was swapped again, at no cost to the club, this time for one certified by UEFA to the two-star category.
The seating followed the same piecemeal logic. Stands for 1,008 spectators came with the 2009 work; a further 600-seat stand was added the year after. In 2017, around €264,000 went on running lanes, basketball courts and athletics areas.
The tenant is FK Banga Gargždai, founded in 1966. Banga reached the final of the Lithuanian Cup in 2011 and again in 2014, losing both, and the same two years brought heavy European defeats: 0:4 to Qarabağ on 30 June 2011, then 0:4 to Sligo Rovers in 2014. The club ended that barren spell in the 2024 final, beating Hegelmann 2:0.
Through all of it the name has stayed as it was — no sponsor has been attached to it. No major concerts have been staged here.
