Green Arena
The floodlights came before the visitors. In 2022 Ringkøbing IF put 1.3 million DKK into a new lighting system, and the club had drawn AC Horsens in the second round of the Danish Cup. On 31 August that year 1,750 people came through the gates at Green Arena — the ground's official record. Horsens won 2–1.
Ringkøbing beat Viborg Søndermarken IK 5–1 here in the 2008–09 competition, and lost 1–2 to Odder in 2015–16.
The place carries two names. Before this was Green Arena it was Alkjær Stadion , the site Ringkøbing IF moved to in 1999 after leaving Kongevejens Stadion. Building work on the replacement ran from 2009 through to the opening in 2014.
The surface is natural grass. One caution for anyone finding their way here: the Green Sports Arena on the other side of town is an indoor hall, home to handball, and nothing to do with this address.
