The pitch at Rødtvet sits in a hole in the rock. The ground was dug out of an abandoned quarry on the Grorud side of Oslo .
Greibanen — the ground is also listed as Grei Kunstgress — is home to SF Grei , whose football section goes back to 1921. That history is longer than anything recorded about the ground itself; the year the pitch opened is not something the surviving record settles.
Of the capacity, only a small part is seated: 230 places out of the figure quoted for the ground as a whole. The rest of the crowd stands.
The exception comes in the NM Cup . The early rounds send clubs from further up the pyramid into grounds like this one, and Rødtvet takes its turn.
Nothing larger has been staged here. No international tournament, no concert.
