Guldfågeln Arena
Construction had begun in December 2009 and the handover came that March; the ground opened on 11 April. Kalmar beat Djurgårdens IF 3-2 in the opening match.
The arena was drawn by Tengbom and built by NCC, and it has stayed largely as it was delivered. No new tier, no reconfigured stands, no expansion. In 2017 the ground passed from Kalmar FF Fastigheter AB to the municipality of Kalmar. In 2020 the original natural pitch, grown in place, was replaced by a hybrid surface using the KE Inject Hybrid System.
The name has a double life. Guldfågeln AB signed on in 2010, before the gates opened, and the deal now runs to 2031. For UEFA and FIFA matches, though, sponsor names come off, and the ground appears as Kalmar Arena. It went by that title when it staged fixtures at the 2013 women's European Championship.
From July 2011 the arena took concerts, among them Håkan Hellström and The Ark.
