Høje Bøge Stadion
Svendborg, Denmark
The beeches gave the ground its name in 1930 and have kept it since: Høje Bøge — tall beeches — for the trees that ring the site on Skovvej on Funen.
Of the 7,000 the ground holds, 100 are seats.
The other date the ground is remembered for is 9 June 1997, when Svendborg fB hosted Aarhus Fremad with a place in the Superliga on the line and lost 1–3.
The one substantial change came in 1994, timed to the DGI landsstævne, when synthetic running tracks went in around the grass. Svendborg Kommune runs it as part of Svendborg Idrætscenter.
Football is not the only draw. Every May the ground gives itself over to the Høje Bøge Open Air, an annual festival whose bill has included D-A-D, Alphabeat and Stine Bramsen. The current tenants, FC Svendborg — SfB-Oure FA, formed by merger in 2019 — play in the Danish 2nd Division.
