Holbæk Sportsby Stadion

The ground that Holbæk Bold- og Idrætsforening left behind held 10,500 people. The one it moved into holds 4,000, with somewhere near 300 seats under cover in the main stand. That drop is the story of the place: the old Holbæk Stadion, renamed SuRi Park in 2015, came down in 2019 and housing went up on the site, while the club shifted to a pitch tucked inside a municipal sports complex on Sports allé.

It is not a stadium in the standalone sense. Holbæk Sportsby Stadion sits alongside a swimming hall and a health centre, all of it drawn up by Kullegaard Arkitekter and put up by main contractor Morten C. Henriksen A/S for Holbæk Kommune and the Fonden Holbæk Sportsby, at a cost of 325 million DKK for the whole complex.

The opening did not go entirely to plan. When the doors came off in June 2019, the artificial pitch turned out to be 7.5 cm too narrow and 9 cm too short for the safety distances required in the 2. Division. The club played on under a dispensation once the spectator fencing was moved back that August — the first competitive match, against Odder IGF, went ahead on 4 August.

Crowds have stayed well inside the capacity. The attendance record, 1,186, was set not by a league fixture but by a charity match on 7 June 2024, when a Holbæk B&I All Stars side met the DBU Oldboys national team.
