Holdsport Arena

Vestergaards Gade was dug to fill. Idrætsforeningen Arbejdersport Aarhus — ASA, a club that has been going since 1933 — began planning in 2015 and had the artificial pitch open two years later, with floodlights.

The name arrived after the pitch did. In November 2017 a sponsorship agreement with Holdsport put the company's name on the arena and money towards the upkeep; before that the ground carried no name of its own. It has had only one occupant since it was laid. ASA's football side uses it and nobody else does.

That single-club character is worth holding onto in a city where the bigger names — NRGi Arena , Djurslands Bank Arena — take up most of the attention. Nothing here is built for an occasion. There is no attendance record to point to, and no note of how much of the thousand stands and how much sits.

The work has not stopped. In December 2024 the municipality granted the club 120,000 kroner for project development on a second artificial pitch at the centre.
