Sw Bregenz still calls it home.

It opened on 14 May 1951, at a time when a ground of this size counted among the larger ones in Austria. The rest of the ground kept its low, open character, with an eight-lane running track still ringing the pitch and marking it out as a facility built for more than one sport — school sports days and athletics meetings use it as readily as football does.

The record crowd dates back further still, to a league match against Wiener Sportclub on 5 September 1954, when 5,500 people found room around the pitch.

Its most recent tenant was not Bregenz at all. From December 2023, once undersoil heating had been fitted to bring the pitch up to Bundesliga standard, SC Austria Lustenau played its home fixtures here while its own stadium underwent reconstruction, an arrangement that lasted until the summer of 2025.
