Inni í Dal
Sandoy has one football pitch, and this is it. Inni í Dal sits off Skopanurvegur at the edge of Sandur, sharing its ground with Sandoyar Meginskúli — the pitch and the school were ready for use by 1971, the school taking in pupils that September.
The club came first. B71 Sandoy was founded on 1 January 1970, and the ground dates from the same year; the club has played here since. The name has never changed either.
That singularity shapes what the ground is. Sandur has stayed a league ground for a league club.
That changes, briefly, in 2027. The football tournament at the Games of the Small States of Europe reaches the Faroes in July of that year, and Inni í Dal is being prepared to host matches — which will bring visiting national squads to a ground that has spent more than fifty years hosting one team from one island, and will hand the venue a fixture list unlike anything in its record.
