The reconstruction ahead of Indy Eleven's 2014 debut turned a university athletics ground into something closer to a proper club home. Two thousand seats went in behind the goals, twelve premium suites were added, and both the grandstand and press box were expanded — work aimed squarely at giving a professional side a professional setting, without the club ever fully shedding the stadium's campus roots.

Capacity tells its own story of contraction. The stadium once held nearly 19,800; today the official figure sits at 12,111, with Indy Eleven fixtures capped further still at 10,524. The gap between those numbers says more about how the venue has been right-sized over the decades than any single renovation could.

Natural grass gave way to FieldTurf Revolution in 2012, a surface refreshed again in 2022 — a switch that lined the stadium up with the demands of a club playing a full professional calendar rather than a university athletics schedule.
