Jan Breydel sits in Sint-Andries under a name that only arrived twenty-three years into the stadium's life.

The capacity has never sat still. Crowd tragedies in 1993 forced it down to around 18,000, then the Euro 2000 rebuild pushed it back up towards 30,000, and it has settled since at 29,062. That tournament also produced the ground's record night: 25 June 2000, France against Spain in the quarter-final, a 2-1 France win watched by roughly 30,000 people.

The pitch itself was relaid in December 2015 with a Mixto hybrid surface. That sharing is the stadium's defining oddity: Club Brugge and Cercle Brugge both call it home, since the city itself owns it rather than either tenant.
