Most grounds that host a second-tier side started as football grounds.
It was rebuilt and reopened on 21 April 2018 . What came back from that rebuild was an artificial surface, floodlights, and a running track still ringing the pitch.
The stand is small and most of it is roofed: of the 400 places, 300 sit under cover. On a wet night in the Nākotnes līga it means the away support has somewhere to stand rather than somewhere to endure.
The tenants are Mārupes SC , known locally as Mārupes futbols, playing in the Latvian second division. Caramba Mārupe used the ground before them.
