Keilor Park Recreation Reserve

Keilor Park Recreation Reserve is one of the busier corners of Brimbank's amateur football map, less a single ground than a shared enclosure that Coburg Districts and Essendon Royals have both used as an away venue, alongside the two clubs that call it home. Keilor Park Soccer Club has been fielding sides here since 1957, while the FC — junior teams from 1974, a senior outfit added in 1981 — plays on as Keilor Park FC, known locally as the Eagles, in the Football Federation Victoria men's state league 1.

The reserve took shape through community labour rather than a single construction date: in 1974 a plot was handed to the football club, and the first working bee followed the next year. A sports club formed in 1983 to run the site as membership and pitch use grew.

What sets it apart from a plain suburban pitch is the sheer mix of surfaces and sports packed into one reserve: at least two synthetic fields sit alongside three grass pitches, and a synthetic athletics track was added in 2011. Cricket, golf and darts clubs share the grounds too, which makes the reserve as much a community hub as a football venue.
