Koe Thein Stadium

The ground on Koe Thein Road is not the one most people in Pathein mean when they talk about football. That is Ayar Stadium, further into town, where Ayeyawady United F.C. play in the Myanmar National League. Koe Thein Stadium takes the other half of the club: Ayeyawady W.F.C., the women's side, host their Myanmar Women's League matches here.

It stands in Pathein Township near where Koe Thein Road meets Sagawah Street and Maha Bandoola Road.

What has changed since is happening at the edges. Regional and union ministers have visited to inspect development works, among them an indoor futsal stadium being built inside the grounds.

Much about it stays unrecorded. The capacity is not published, nor the playing surface, nor who built it or when it opened. The name itself is unsettled — Koe Thein Sports Ground and Koe Thein Football Stadium both appear.
