Ayeyawady Women

The match that drew the biggest crowd in the history of women's football in Myanmar was Ayeyawady against Yangon United, played in November 2025. By then the two sides were separated by little in the table, and the meeting was a fixture between Yangon, the capital club, and a side from Pathein that had existed for barely a year.

Ayeyawady were assembled in 2024 and finished third in that first season. What followed was a league campaign of 12 wins and 4 draws, no defeats, 44 goals scored and 11 conceded, and a title. Ei Sandar Zaw kept 9 clean sheets across it and took the Golden Glove.

The name that runs through both seasons is San Thaw Thaw . She was the league's leading scorer in the club's debut year, then top-scored again in the title season with 20 goals.

Part of that difference came from recruitment. In 2025 Ayeyawady brought in players from the Philippines and Japan, the first Myanmar women's club to sign foreign professionals. The following continental campaign ended with the club top of Group F on three wins: 4-0 against FC Jurong of Singapore, 8-0 against No Limits FC of Lebanon, and a 1-0 win over New Taipei City Hang Yuan FC.

Home is Koe Thein Stadium in Pathein, which holds 2,500.
