Kuopio Football Stadium

The steel skeleton of the main stand rises from the pitch. Before then, the site had been a harness racing track since 1906, and a football pitch was only added in 1931. The original concrete stands opened on 29 May 1939, but the current structure — designed by Seppo Valjus Architectural Office — was completed on 3 July 2005. The surface is artificial turf , a heated synthetic pitch laid down in 2003 and replaced twice since, first in 2009 and again in 2020, to keep pace with the requirements of the Veikkausliiga and UEFA. The ground has also seen matches for Pallokissat. The capacity of 4,778 was reached in the summer of 2011 when 500 cup seats were fitted into the end stand, bringing the total to 2,700 in the main stand, 500 in the end, and the rest standing. The venue has hosted finals and semi-finals of the Liigacup — the 2012 final between TPS and HJK, and a 2014 semi-final where KuPS lost 1–0 to SJK. Senior Finland national team fixtures have never been held here; those events moved to the nearby Väinölänniemi Stadium.
