What was Leiknisvöllur for decades is now officially Domusnovavöllurinn, a sponsorship change dated to 2015 rather than a rebuild or relocation — the ground did not move, only the signage did. Locals and older records still default to the original name, which is why it persists as the point of reference even after the switch.

Little survives in the record about when the ground first opened. What is documented is more mundane: the old dressing rooms date to 1987, and the clubhouse went through a refurbishment in 2008 — two markers of a facility maintained rather than reinvented, fitting for a stadium that has always served one purpose, home to one club, in one corner of the city.
