Lucas 'Masterpieces' Moripe Stadium
Formerly: Atteridgeville Super Stadium, Super Stadium
Atteridgeville renamed its stadium in 2010 for Lucas Moripe, a local footballer, two years after the City of Tshwane had already rebuilt the place beyond recognition, spending 48 million rand on new floodlights, drainage, seating and dressing rooms to bring it up to international standard.
That rebuild was timed for the 2010 World Cup, though no match of the tournament itself was played here.
The record crowd came on 9 August 2023, when 28,900 packed in for Sundowns against Kaizer Chiefs, and the hosts saw it out 2-1.
