Mamelodi Sundowns U23

Mamelodi Sundowns' reserves play in two competitions: the DStv Diski Shield, which was previously the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Reserve League, and the DStv Diski Challenge. The team is known as the Diski Team, or simply the Reserves, and sits inside the club's academy, which was formally established in 2011.

Training takes place at Chloorkop. Home fixtures move around Pretoria. Most are staged at Lucas Moripe Stadium, which holds 28,900, with Tuks Stadium as the other regular venue. The first team plays at Loftus Versfeld, a ground of 51,762 seats, so the reserves rarely share a pitch with the players they are meant to replace.

The academy's purpose shows in its list of graduates. Percy Tau and Themba Zwane both came through the reserves to the first team, and the same route has since been taken by Motjeka Madisha, Keletso Makgalwa and Sphelele Mkhulise.

The colours are yellow, green and blue, taken from the Brazil national team. The same source gives the senior club its nickname, The Brazilians, and in Sesotho, Masandawana. In reserve football the opposition is the other big clubs' youth sides: Kaizer Chiefs U23, Orlando Pirates U23 and SuperSport United U23.

The 2018/19 DStv Diski Shield is the team's only trophy. Two seasons after winning it, in 2020/21, they reached the final of the DStv Diski Challenge Rewired and lost to AmaZulu.
