Hartley Wintney moved to Green Lane in 1953, leaving Causeway Farm behind. The Memorial name came later, attached in remembrance of the village's dead from the Second World War, on land given by Brigadier Sir Richard Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe.

Little about the place has changed by way of grand rebuilding. A small stand went up in 2013, holding around a hundred and fifty, and further covered space behind one goal followed over the next decade. The attendance record dates to 25 January 2003, when 1,392 turned up for a Combined Counties League Premier Division meeting with AFC Wimbledon.
