Mes Rafsanjan Stadium
Rafsanjan, Iran
Mes Rafsanjan Stadium stands on the south-eastern outskirts of Rafsanjan, Kerman Province, Iran. It opened on 3 November 2023, following a decade of work on the broader sports complex project that began in 2009. The venue replaced the club’s former ground, Stadium Number 2 of Shohadaye Sanat Mes Rafsanjan, and is officially designated as Stadium Number 1.
It is owned by the National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICOICO), which also runs the team that plays there. The club competes in the Persian Gulf Pro League. The new ground has a capacity of 10,000. The playing surface is natural grass.
The inauguration match was played between Mes Rafsanjan and Foolad FC, which Mes Rafsanjan won 3-0. The stadium has not undergone any name changes since its construction; its full official name honors the martyrs of the Mes (copper) industry. There are other stadiums with 'Mes' in their name in Iran, such as Shohadaye Mes Kerman Stadium in Kerman (capacity 30,000) and Shohadaye Sanat Mes Stadium in Tafresh, but these are distinct facilities in different cities serving different teams.
