Mes Rafsanjan — Havadar, Azadegan League

Mes Rafsanjan and Havardar played out a goalless draw in the opening round of the Azadegan League on Tuesday, September 16th. The match ended 0:0 at the hosts' ground, a result that kept both sides level on points after one game.

There were no goals and no cards to speak of — not a yellow, not a red for either side. The game had a certain rhythm to it, neither team wanting to commit too early. By then, it was clear both managers were feeling their way through.

Both teams came in with mixed recent form. Mes Rafsanjan had lost three of their last five before a 2:0 win over Paykan, while Havardar's run included a heavy 0:3 defeat and a 4:1 victory. They dug in against each other rather than chasing the game.

Our prediction had backed the hosts at 75% confidence, but the match went a different way. And here's the thing — neither side was sharp enough to break the deadlock, and the defence did not travel to make up the numbers. It was a cautious affair.

The result leaves Mes Rafsanjan in tenth and Havardar in ninth, each with one point from one game. To be fair, it's early days and the table has not shifted much yet.
