Naft Masjed Soleyman

Three groups of engineers working for the National Iranian Oil Company put the club together in Masjed Soleyman, an oil town in Khuzestan Province. It started life as F.C. Corona Masjed-Soleyman in 1965, and ownership settled with the National Iranian South Oil Company.

The club's one outright league title came in 2017–18, when they won the Azadegan League and went up. It was not the first time the second tier had sent them upward: they had already done it in 2009–10, and finished runners-up in 2013–14 to reach the Persian Gulf Pro League for the first time in their history. None of those spells at the top lasted. Relegation followed in 2014–15, again in 2022–23, and by 2024–25 the drop had gone further still, down to the third tier. The only other honour on record is a Khuzestan Provincial Cup, won in 1973, long before the promotion-relegation years that have defined the club since.

Their derby is with Esteghlal Khuzestan, a fixture Khuzestan football still calls by that name, and Sanat Naft Abadan and Foolad complete the list of provincial rivals. Milad Meydavoudi, once of the Iran national team, played out his career at the club and retired there in 2019; Hossein Kanaanizadegan, now an Iran international defender, started out here before moving on.

Home games are played under the name Zagros Lions at the Behnam Mohammadi Stadium, known locally as well as Masjed Soleyman Stadium, in front of a capacity of 8,000 in yellow and blue.
