Naft Bandar Abbas — Shahin Bandar Ameri: 1:1, Azadegan League

Naft Bandar Abbas and Shahin Bandar Amiri played out a 1-1 draw in the opening round of the Azadegan League on Tuesday. The result leaves both sides level on a point each after their first competitive fixture of the season.

A. Pourmohammad broke the deadlock in the twenty-sixth minute, putting the hosts ahead. It was a straightforward finish that gave Naft the lead they worked for in the opening quarter.

And here's the thing — Shahin responded quickly. P. Miri converted a penalty in the thirty-fifth minute to restore parity. To be fair, the visitors had earned their spot at the spot-kick, and he did not hang about.

By then the pattern was set: two half-chances, two finishes, no second wind. Neither side pushed forward with any urgency after the thirty-fifth minute. The match settled into a comfortable rhythm that suited both managers.

Naft sit sixth in the table with one point from one game, while Shahin occupy seventh place on the same tally. Neither side has tasted victory or suffered defeat — yet.

The opening round ends with both clubs sharing the spoils. A point each feels right for a match that produced little beyond the two goals in the first half.
