Mežaparks Sports Village
Riga, Latvia
Mežaparks Sports Village sits on the grounds of a former military base in Riga's northern district, and the football pitch is only one part of it — swimming pools and a basketball hall share the site, so the arena reads more as a training campus than a matchday venue. Baltic Sport Group built the complex, and the football ground with its stands opened in 2021 on Ezermalas iela, backing onto Ķeizarmežs.
The pitch itself is a woven artificial surface, GreenFields MX Elite, which suits a venue built for volume of use rather than for a single showcase tenant. Riga FC has used the ground for its reserve and under-19 sides, and Riga Mariners have played home matches here too; FK Auda passed through earlier. None of that points to a fixed first-team home — this is a development and training base first, with matchday capacity kept modest at 500 seats.
No former name attaches to the site — it has been Mežaparks Sports Village since the rebuild began in 2020, and it is worth keeping separate from the unrelated Baltic Sports Village project out at Piņķi.
