Metallurg (A. Anokhin Stadium)

The ground at Bekabad carries two names because it has had two lives. The rebuilding ran from 2009 to 2012, and what opened at the end of it was effectively a different stadium standing on the same ground: fifteen thousand seats, three times what the old one held.

That is the number worth pausing on.

The pitch is natural grass, kept that way through the reconstruction rather than swapped for a synthetic surface.

Finding it is another matter. The stadium sits in the Yoshlik mahalla, and beyond that the address thins out — no street, no number that anyone has written down in a place a visitor might look. The club's site, metallurg-pfc.uz, is not much help either.
