Mika Stadium

Mika Stadium takes its name not from the club or a sponsor deal but from the businessman who built it: Mikhail Baghdasarov, known as "Mika", constructed the ground as part of a wider sports complex bearing his nickname. It stands in the Shengavit district of Yerevan, on the footprint of the old Araks stadium, torn down to make way for it.

The ground opened on 22 May 2008, and its first fixture was an international rather than a domestic one: Spain's under-21 side beat Ukraine 3-1, with Andriy Yarmolenko opening the scoring from the penalty spot in the 18th minute. It has hosted Armenian Cup finals regularly since.

In December 2023 the stadium stepped outside football altogether, staging the IBA Junior World Boxing Championships, where the Armenian team took four gold medals — an unusual entry on the résumé of a 7,000-capacity club ground.

The pitch is natural grass, and the stadium serves as home to FC Mika, the club sharing its founder's nickname.
