Moreton Bay Central Sports Complex

The Moreton Bay Central Sports Complex features two precincts separated by a road, each with its own history and surface. The AFL precinct opened in 2013, featuring a natural grass pitch that has seen over a decade of matches. The complex sits near the Bruce Highway.

The Soccer Precinct was built later, in 2019, introducing the region’s first FIFA-rated synthetic field. This dual setup allows the venue to host different codes at different times without conflict. The capacity of 6,500 is spread across a main pavilion and surrounding grass banks, keeping the feel open and accessible.

History on this ground is not measured in centuries but in specific moments. The highest recorded attendance came on February 28, 2015, when 6,200 fans gathered for an AFL NAB Challenge match between the Brisbane Lions and St Kilda. The Lions won that day, 58–55. This was not a final, yet it drew a crowd close to the venue's limit. The Brisbane Lions have also used the site for pre-season training, taking advantage of the facilities before they settled into their own permanent structures. The soccer club here, Caboolture Sports FC, has hosted international fixtures, including a friendly against the Solomon Islands national team in 2022.

The stadium is not enclosed by high walls. A chain-link fence runs along the perimeter, separating the playing fields from the adjacent grass. Tall floodlight masts rise above the trees, marking the boundary of the playable area. There is no distinct entrance gate that dominates the view; instead, access is provided through various points around the complex. The sky above is often overcast, casting a flat light over the green expanse. This is a place designed for utility and community use, where the game flows without the pressure of a grand arena.
