Few college grounds can claim an Olympic football tournament, a FIFA World Youth Championship and an NHL outdoor game on the same résumé, but Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium has hosted all three, alongside the football it was actually built for. Navy Midshipmen football and lacrosse have called it home since it opened, and the name above the gates has never changed since — only the field itself was renamed, becoming Jack Stephens Field in 2004.

The $56 million rebuild completed that year lowered the playing surface, wrapped it with club and luxury seating, and filled in the end zones, pushing capacity to its current 34,000; further luxury and club additions in 2010 and 2015 left the overall figure untouched. Natural grass gave way to FieldTurf in 2005.

Beyond the Midshipmen, the stadium has taken in lacrosse's Chesapeake Bayhawks, USL side Crystal Palace Baltimore, and Annapolis Blues FC, while the Military Bowl has filled the December calendar there since 2013. The biggest crowd through the gates came on 21 October 2023, when 38,803 turned out for the visit of Air Force — a figure that edged past the 38,792 recorded for the same fixture six years earlier, in October 2017.
