Annapolis Blues Women

Kyle Beckerman spent his playing career marshalling midfields in Major League Soccer, and in June 2022 he sat down with Michael Hitchcock and Alex E to put together a semi-professional club in Annapolis, Maryland. Supporters picked the name that August, choosing Annapolis Blues over Kraken, Seawolves and Yard in a vote — a nod to the blue crabs pulled from the Chesapeake Bay rather than to anything on a football pitch. The women's side came later, formed in November 2024 and stepping into the USL W League's Chesapeake Division for the 2025 season.

Home games are played at the Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, known locally as Jack Stephens Field, a 34,000-seat ground built for the Naval Academy rather than for a fledgling women's club — the Blues fill only a fraction of it on a given Saturday.

That debut season went about as well as a first season can. Annapolis won nine of ten league matches, lost only once, and topped the Chesapeake Division before reaching the conference final. There is no trophy yet to show for it. The follow-up campaign brought the team back to earth: five wins, four defeats and a draw left them third in the division in 2026, short of the points needed to reach the playoffs again.

The Blues now go into the rest of the season working to close that gap and return to the postseason they reached in their first year.
