Neo Química Arena
The arena went up for a World Cup opening match, and it still carries the scars of that deadline — the temporary stands bolted onto one end for the tournament pushed the ground past sixty thousand for a night, a number the permanent bowl was never built to hold again on its own. What the club kept afterwards is closer to forty-nine thousand, and it is that smaller, permanent capacity that the record books now measure against, most recently in a derby against Palmeiras.
The pitch is a hybrid surface, reinforced natural grass rather than a pure lawn, chosen for a ground that has to survive a heavy Brazilian league calendar without a break for reseeding. Corinthians play here in front of crowds that fill the place for the fixtures that matter, and the ground has done outside work too: it hosted matches at the 2019 Copa América and, more recently, opened its gates to American football when the NFL brought a regular-season game to São Paulo.
There has been no rebuilding since the doors opened in 2014, though the club has talked about pushing capacity up towards fifty-one thousand. For now the ground stands as it was handed over, still going by the name supporters gave it long before any sponsor's name was attached.
