Nova Arena

Nova Arena occupies a narrow footprint on Grazhdansky Prospekt, in the Kalininsky district. The complex opened as a sports centre in 2010, but the football pitch and stands did not come into full use until May 2014, and even then the site's legal status lagged years behind its actual operation: Gosstroynadzor issued the construction permit in December 2014, and the formal certificate of occupancy was not signed until August 2015.

The ground has kept its name since day one. Zvezda Saint Petersburg use it as their home venue, and since the 2022/23 season the beach and futsal club Kristall have played their home fixtures there as well. The artificial pitch has hosted knockout football above its usual level: a Russian Second Division and, on 12 October 2019, the North-West zone final of the Russian Cup, in which Dynamo Saint Petersburg beat Khimik Koryazhma 1-0. Four years earlier, on 21 October 2015, Zvezda won the North-West interregional cup final on the same ground, defeating Tosno-M 1-0.

Attendance figures for the arena rarely make headlines, which is what made 5 June 2025 unusual: a mass pushball exhibition billed as "60x11," pairing sixty children with eleven professional footballers, drew free-entry crowds that organisers called a record for the venue and, they claimed, a first of its kind anywhere. No national team has ever played there, and the venue's listed capacity varies by source, though the club's own figure puts it at 1,598 seats.
