Parque Alfredo Víctor Viera

The ground sits in the Prado , and it belongs to the club that plays on it. Montevideo Wanderers Fútbol Club built it, owns it, and has never had another home.

That opening, on 15 October 1933 , was marked with a friendly against Bella Vista . Wanderers won it 2–0. For its first years the place carried the plainer name Wanderers Park ; the name it holds now, Parque Alfredo Víctor Viera , came later, and in everyday use it is shortened simply to Estadio Viera .

What the ground has never been is large. The figure most often attached to it in CONMEBOL paperwork is 7,527, and that is the number a visiting side should expect to see around them — closer to a well-kept club ground than to the national arenas elsewhere in the city. The pitch is natural grass.
