Parque Oriental
Parque Oriental sits right on the line where the department of Montevideo gives way to Canelones. The ground belongs to Club Oriental de Football, and it was raised on what had been the Saldero de Abayubá.
There is nothing grand about the place, and it does not pretend otherwise. Fifteen hundred people fill it, five hundred of them seated, and the rest stand on a natural grass pitch. Oriental have used it to work their way through the lower tiers of Uruguayan football, taking the Segunda División Amateur in 2004, in 2007, across 2008–09, and again in 2014–15.
The national team has never had reason to visit, no league final has been staged on the grass, and no concert promoter has ever needed the space.
