PCC-Stadion

The clue to this ground is in the street it stands on. Rheindeichstraße runs along the Rhine embankment in Homberg, and for years the ground was known simply as Stadion am Rheindeich — the stadium on the dyke. That older, geographical name has never quite gone away. It still circulates alongside PCC-Stadion, the commercial title the arena carries in honour of the sponsor PCC SE, and no other sponsor name has attached itself to the place since.

The main pitch is grass. The permanent tenant is VfB Homberg, and the club is embedded here in a way visiting sides notice: the place is occupied on days when there is no fixture at all.

It is not VfB Homberg's ground alone. The women's team of MSV Duisburg also play their matches here, which gives the Rheindeich two separate footballing calendars running through the same set of pitches.
