PMFC Stadion (Újmecsekaljai stadion)
Pécs, Hungary
Formerly: Újmecsekaljai stadion, PMSC Stadion
Pécs built this ground in 1955, in the new district of Uránváros, laid out to house the workers of the town's uranium mine.
On 17 September 1986 Pécsi Munkás SC beat Feyenoord 1:0 here in the UEFA Cup, and on 3 October 1990 the ground took on Manchester United in the Cup Winners' Cup, losing 0:1. A Hungary–Croatia friendly followed on 2 May 2002, drawing 10,000 through the gates.
Capacity is a moving target here. Databases list an official 9,884, but the number of seats actually certified for use today runs closer to 7,000, after stands built for standing spectators were converted or shut under UEFA and Hungarian federation rules — in an earlier era, with terracing still open, the ground could hold 15,000 to 20,000.
PTE-PEAC Pécs also uses the pitch.
