UAB opened it against Liberty on 2 October 2021 in front of more than 35,000. The first full house came that December, when Houston beat Auburn 17–13 in the Birmingham Bowl. The record, though, belongs to a Garth Brooks concert the following June — roughly 50,000, above the football figure, which is what a 360-degree concourse and a convertible playing surface are for.
Birmingham Legion FC arrived in 2022 and drew a club-best 18,418 for a U.S. Open Cup quarter-final against Inter Miami CF in June 2023. The Birmingham Stallions left in July 2026, citing capacity.
