Rimnersvallen

Rimnersvallen went the other way. When Peab and the municipality finished work on the old athletics-and-football ground in autumn 2023, the stadium that reopened held barely a third of the crowd it used to.

The ground in Uddevalla had stood since a construction committee, set up under Oscar Andersson in 1920, pushed the project through; the old bowl once held somewhere between 10,600 and 12,000, mostly standing room that had done service for decades. The 2021–2023 rebuild tore those terraces down and put in new seating from Alfing Seating, with more than 2,200 of the 4,050 places now individual seats rather than standing spots.

The running track around the natural grass pitch is still there, a reminder that Rimnersvallen was built for athletics as much as for football. A separate artificial pitch on the same site, Rimnersvallen Konstgräs, takes the training sessions and the bad-weather bookings, leaving the grass pitch for IK Oddevold's own matches.

Ownership has sat with Uddevalla kommun since the ground opened in 1923, and the name has never changed — no sponsor tag, no rebrand, unlike Skarsjövallen across town, which has worn several over the years.
